COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Every worker who steps onto an elevated platform or structure understands the inherent risks ,and that safety begins with knowledge. Our essential Work at Height Awareness Training course is meticulously designed for all personnel whose duties require wearing a harness for fall arrest or work restraint. This training empowers individuals to take charge of their safety while providing managers with the assurance that their team is thoroughly educated. You will gain a clear understanding of Legislation & Regulations and the crucial hierarchy of hazard management, learning to systematically assess risks and select the safest work procedures before the job even starts. 

Participants will cover the following topics:

• Legislation & Regulations
• Hierarchy of hazard management – work at height
• Pre-use harness inspection
• Fitting of a fall arrest harness
• Use of fall arrest & work restraint lanyards
• Fall dynamics
• Prolonged harness suspension
• Logging & maintenance of equipment

SUMMARY

Learners who successfully complete this module will:

• Understand the principles of fall arrest and work restraint
• Be competent to fit a fall arrest harness and work at height helmet
• Be competent to use a basic fall arrest / restraint system
